Creaking pines at kuitpo

Went with my girls today to kuitpo forest (Kangarilla).
We coaxed a tearful Martha up the steepest bit we could find under the watchful Currawongs. At the top the view was great across to the sea. On the way down Radha and I took the shortest route down through the pick-up-sticks tangle of splintered pines. Halfway down we crossed a cool bridge over the gully. When we got to the bottom we stopped and listened to the swaying trees creaking a song whilst their needles mimicked rain. Met up with Luisa And Martha at the car and restored ourselves with chocolate. Will be heading back there one time. Perhaps under a full moon.
